I’m teaching portrait drawing on Tuesdays through the Educational Alliance. I forgot how much I enjoy teaching, plus when it’s about drawing portraits it’s even better. After each class I leave very satisfied and feeling quite high. I did not realize how much I have to give in this area. I’ve had great teachers and much of my material is taken from them. Their methods make more sense watching my students move through the different stages. I love it.

I will be giving a workshop on portrait drawing Friday February 24th 6pm – 8pm at Wix Lounge (10 W 18th Street) through GreenspaceNYC. GreenspaceNYC offers a bunch of interesting pop up classes focusing on sustainability and community. My class will be more on the community building end of things in that we’ll be drawing each other. We’ll work in small groups with each person taking a turn posing, rotating every 5 minutes or so. The thrust of the teaching will be on drawing what you see.

Just returned from the strange dream town, South Beach Miami + Art Basel. We (Gutbox) had work in Fountain with Lambert Fine Arts. It was good seeing so much art at the fairs (Fountain, Aqua, Scope, Art Miami) and meeting many artists and people who work in art. I even met Fab 5 Freddy and had my picture taken with him.
