I forgot how much I enjoy teaching, plus when it’s about drawing portraits it’s even better. After each class I leave very satisfied and feeling quite high. I did not realize how much I have to give in this area. I’ve had great teachers and much of my material is taken from them. Their methods make more sense watching my students move through the different stages. I love it.

GreenspaceNYC offers a bunch of interesting pop up classes focusing on sustainability and community. My class will be more on the community building end of things in that we’ll be drawing each other. We’ll work in small groups with each person taking a turn posing, rotating every 5 minutes or so. The thrust of the teaching will be on drawing what you see.

Oil on linen, 20 inches wide by 16 high. Hand stretched in the traditional method over heavy bars using brass tacks. Rabbit skin glued and oil primed. The linen is the heavyweight herringbone weave from Robert Doak in Dumbo. This painting is for sale, $800. Please email to inquire.
